Antioxidant Foods -
Perhaps better Utilized Than Supplements

Antioxidant foods, frequently misspelled as antioxident foods, are some of the best you can eat to safeguard your health. Although most of the pages on this site are about different types of supplements, when it comes to this nutrient, there is some research that suggests it may be more beneficial to the body as whole foods than when taken in supplement form.

The advantage of supplements is that they enable you to concentrate the amount of nutrients in a way that isn't normally possible with food.

I think my top choice is dark chocolate. Dark chocolate is very high in antioxidants, but I've recently learned of a specific type of dark chocolate called "Chava Chocolate" that is unusual in several different ways:

Citrus Can't be Beat

If you asked me to choose between eating grapefruit and oranges, I'd have a hard time, but for me grapefruit would probably win out.

However, many would prefer oranges. Both fruit are high in antioxidants, but they are also downright delicious. During the holiday season, you can't go wrong in giving fruit baskets because even for the person who has everything, more fruit can only improve their health.

Even after the holiday season has passed, there are always birthdays and special occasions such as Valentines Day. Fruit is a far healthier gift for your sweetheart than candy would be, so why not start a new tradition.

I've recently found a company that offers fruit fresh from Florida. I believe you can have it shipped directly to someone else if you want to use it for gifts, or of course you can buy it to improve your own health and that of your family.

I realize you can get fruit baskets from any grocery store, but the fruit frequently isn't very fresh. That is the advantage of buying directly from a Florida grower. My understanding is they have Baskets under $30, which is probably as good a price as you'd get at the grocery store.

There are many other similar foods I've failed to mention on this page, but I'm only trying to whet your appetite rather than present an exhaustive list.

If your health is fairly good, you can definitely protect and improve it by making these antioxidant foods and others a part of your diet.

If your health is not good, I'd encourage you to eat as many antioxidant foods as possible, while also adding antioxidant supplements to your diet.

Supplements can enable healing when antioxidant foods alone have failed to do so.
