Juvenon
Alleged to End Aging

Dr. Whitaker Triveratrol Plus

Juvenon is marketed as a pill that will "De-Age" your body. They claim it is the fountain of youth in a pill. There are five ingredients listed on the label, Biotin (a B vitamin) Calcium and Phosphorus (common minerals), Acetyl l Carnitine, and Alpha Lipoic Acid. These are the active ingredients, but as with most pills, there are quite a few other inactive ingredients listed in small print as well.

According to the sales magazine, this supplement was the result of research by two anti-aging specialists, and they insisted throughout the brochure that "It works for you, or it's free!". It also quoted stories by leading news sources such as CNN, MSN Health, ESPN, and Reader's Digest all claiming that it had been proven to reverse aging.

The general claim throughout was that it would enable you to feel and work as though you were fifteen to twenty years younger than your current age. It was supposed to:

  • improve your energy level
  • keep you from developing signs of aging
  • strengthen your heart
  • improve your skin tone and texture, that is make it look younger
  • give you a sharper memory so you don't forget things or misplace them
  • quiet stiffness and soreness and improve swelling
  • boost your mood

It is supposed to accomplish these feats by acting as a potent antioxidant thereby stopping free radicals from damaging your body, while providing energy on the cellular level.

It Sounds Great, but no Difference was Noted

Juvenon is an example of a supplement with good ingredients, we still didn't find helpful. I'm familiar with the ingredients in Juvenon, and am well aware of their health benefits. However, certain formulas have synergistic capabilities (they work better in combination than alone).

So when my husband began experiencing enough "senior moments" that it began to concern us, we decided we'd try Juvenon to see if it would help his memory, and hopefully his morning stiffness as well.

The greatest savings was offered on a 12 bottle deal, and since they offered a "No-Quibble Money Back Guarantee", I figured we might as well order enough that he could take it for several months before making a decision. The guarantee read...

For ANY Reason, Get ALL Your Money Back!

If you're not thrilled, simply return the unused portion at any time.

We were gone for two months on a short term mission trip shortly after we ordered it. My husband never has as much trouble with his arthritis while in the tropics, so I checked the guarantee again right before we left to be sure it wouldn't be a problem if I put off making a decision about this for a while. But the wording seemed very clear, so I was re-assured.

After taking Juvenon for about two and a half to three months, my husband really couldn't tell it was helping him at all. He thought it might have helped his stiffness slightly, but not enough that he was sure.

He stopped taking it for a couple of weeks, and then started again to see if we could be sure about any differences, but nothing was obvious.

So, we finally decided we'd take them up on their refund.

    Juvenon
    Worthless Guarantee

When I called customer support, the lady I talked to informed me that they only had a money back guarantee for sixty days. She referred me to the next sentence of the guarantee which reads...

"I personally promise to rush you a full refund of every cent you paid for the product within 60 days. What could be fairer?"

She proceeded to inform me it meant that I had to ask for a refund within 60 days, or they wouldn't give me one.

By the way, the guarantee was signed by Nathan Hamilton, President and CEO of Juvenon, Inc. The ingredients aren't the problem with Juveon, the company producing it is.

I read the sentence to her several times, and pointed out he had said it might take up to sixty days to refund my money, not that I had to ask for the refund within sixty days.

The previous sentence had clearly stated that I would be able to return the unused portion at any time.

She was unwilling to admit there was any problem with their communication, but she offered me a 50% refund since I had "misunderstood".

I told her I'd take it, since it was better than nothing, but I also told her I would warn the readers of my website their guarantee is worthless.

It has been years now since we asked for that refund, and we've never received it. Additionally, although my husband finished using the product since they refused to honor their guarantee, he never did notice any improvement to his health, nor did I.

So, please be aware, this company obviously doesn't stand behind their product, their guarantee is worthless, and I question the validity of the stated ingredients, since it has never helped my husband.

I've dealt with many companies through the mail, online, and on the phone, but I've never had one shaft me as this company did. I wouldn't recommend anyone else make a similar mistake.

    Juvenon
    Beware

Although the individual ingredients in this supplement are valuable nutrients, you can get them from LifeExtension.com, or Vitacost for no more than this supplement costs, and probably a good deal less.

I don't doubt it may have helped some people, but since the company doesn't stand behind their guarantee, I wouldn't trust them, nor recommend them to you.

    Cognitex Basics - Life Extension
The nutrients included in this formula may well improve your health, but I wouldn't get them from Juvenon, Inc., located in Manteno, Illinois.

I prefer not to write a negative review about any company, but at the same time, I do believe a company should honor its written guarantee, even if it didn't realize exactly what had been said.

You'll be happier and healthier sticking with companies like Life Extension Products, or Healthy Directions, that do stand behind their supplements.
