Before you hit the browsers back button and write me off as some kind of a kook, please let me explain...
Yet before further explanation, let's be sure we know what we're talking about. What are these symptoms?
B vitamin deficienciesThis list isn't exhaustive, and very few women develop all of these problems at once, but all of these problems are considered by most to be peri-menopause symptoms, since most of them happen to us around that time of life.
If you are struggling with some or many of these symptoms, you've probably already seen your doctor, and depending on the severity of the symptoms, he may or may not be doing something to treat you. But conventional medicine usually focuses on the symptoms, not the causes.
To return to our opening question, are these symptoms preventable? Or are they simply unavoidable?
As I began to study this time in women's lives, I noticed something very interesting. Pre Menopause Symptoms, peri menopause symptoms, and estrogen dominance symptoms are all pretty much the same. As I did further research, I came to understand the reason. All three conditions have the same underlying cause.
Although these symptoms are known as symptoms of peri menopause, they are caused by a hormonal imbalance in our bodies.
Due to powerful man made hormonal substances (called xenohormones) in our modern lives, and to changes in the hormonal working of our bodies, we end up having far more estrogen circulating in our bodies than progesterone.
This excess of estrogen, or "estrogen dominance" causes the long list of symptoms above along with others I didn't list.
What Can Be Done?
Rather than simply accepting peri menopause or pre menopause symptoms as an unavoidable result of aging, we can choose to balance our hormones naturally by supplementing with natural progesterone. When a healthy balance of progesterone to estrogen is re-established in our bodies, the above list of symptoms quietly resolve on their own. I know this sounds to good to be true, but let me share a personal experience with you. The last time I began supplementing with natural progesterone, I had about 80% of those symptoms listed above, including breast cancer. But the problem that was most bothering me at the time was that I had gained about 5 inches in my waist, and I didn't seem to be able to do anything to lose it.
In the first week I supplemented with natural progesterone, I lost three inches from my waist! I know that is hard to believe, but it is the truth.
I had actually used progesterone earlier, but had stopped using it because my doctor had informed me it would cause strokes. However, after reviewing What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Premenopause: Balance Your Hormones and Your Life From Thirty to Fifty
, I realized what the problem was.
My doctor was lumping natural progesterone in with the synthetic progestin drugs. Many doctors do this, but they are not the same thing. The synthetic drugs DO tend to cause strokes, and other serious side effects, but natural progesterone will not.
I'm not pretending to be a doctor, and I only know what I have learned from reading and personal experience. If you'd like a more thorough explanation of the hormonal connections in our bodies and how an imbalance can cause the peri menopause symptoms you're struggling with, I'd highly recommend you read the above book. It is available from Amazon at a very cheap price, or if you can wait awhile, you can probably get it from a public library.
How to Supplement
The most effective way to supplement with natural progesterone is to use a natural progesterone cream. If you think you might be interested please visit the page I've written about it. More details are explained, where you can find it, and why it is the best way to supplement. Of course my explanations still aren't as detailed as those Dr. Lee gives in the book, but many women don't really want that detailed an explanation anyway, and since I'm not a doctor, I might make some mistakes. So if you want an expert's discussion of peri menopause symptoms, please read the book.
Conclusion:
Although most American women do struggle with peri menopause symptoms, they are not inevitable, nor unavoidable. There are herbal remedies and vitamins that will help with these symptoms, but balancing your hormones with natural progesterone is definitely the best way to make them disappear.
