Saving Supplement Solutions, Issue #001 -- What do You Save with Supplements? December 18, 2008 |
| Before we consider the main topic of this e-zine, I'd like to thank you for your interest in Saving Supplement Solutions, and wish you a very Merry Christmas, and a profitable New Year. During these times of financial uncertainty, I'm sure that savings are uppermost in everyone's mind. But you're probably wondering how savings connect with supplements. In this first issue, I'll explore with you some of the savings you can enjoy through using supplements.
What do you Save by Using Supplements?Your Health! We'd all like to believe that you could be healthy by simply eating a balanced diet, but in today's world of mass produced food, that is not usually the case.In order to be truly healthy, you need to find the supplements that will help you overcome the health challenges that you're currently struggling with. If you don't have any current health challenges, you are truly blessed! I trust you'll thank the Lord this Christmas for His gift of good health. Even then, a wise use of some basic supplements such as a good multivitamin can support and prolong your health.
Your Money! When you substitute a supplement for a prescription drug, you will almost always end up paying less for the supplement then you would for the drug.If you have good insurance with low deductibles on drugs, you may think drugs are cheaper in your case. There are other areas to consider, however. First, consider the complications caused by drug side effects. A study in 2006 done by a group of researchers and published in Life Extension Magazine estimates that adverse drug reactions are responsible for 106,000 death a year! Then consider the slow decline of your health, since most prescriptions only treat symptoms, rather then the real cause of the health challenge. However, just for the sake of discussion, let's suppose you can get a prescription cheaper then a supplement that would overcome the same challenge. Please understand that you will still save money, in the long run by taking the supplement. For example, if my husband had begun to use supplements to treat his osteoarthritis before he was walking bone on bone in both knees, he might well have been able to avoid knee replacement surgery. Each operation was over fifty thousand dollars, and that didn't include the physical therapy, or follow-up doctors' visits. As I mentioned earlier prescriptions usually improve symptoms, while effective supplements help your body heal. So over time your health continues to go down hill and you end up needing operations and even more drugs just to exist. Usually somewhere in the process you've ceased to enjoy life at all! If you think these things through, I suspect you'll realize you'd save with the supplements. I believe you can save a lot of money by investing in health supplements. Your Time!It takes a lot of time to resolve health problems using the current medical establishment.A doctor's visit takes an hour or two, if you are blessed enough to have a doctor who believes your time is as valuable as his. If not, it may well take a half a day or more. Of course, the doctor will fit you in his busy schedule when it suits him, not when it is convenient for you. Then, unless you're dealing with a virus, or a very simple health challenge, you'll be referred to a specialist, and you can start the process all over again. Visiting doctors can almost become an occupation by the time you reach your "golden years", although I've met very few people who really look forward to living in doctors' offices. Finding and using the best supplements for your health will take some time, but you get to choose when to spend the time. While you find the supplements that meet your needs, you can continue to invest the majority of your time on your job and the things you enjoy in life. Once you've found the right supplements, your time investment will be nearly zero!
Possibly your Life! Please don't misunderstand me here, I'm not saying you, or anyone else can know they've saved their life by using supplements. In the end, only God determines how long we live. However, God has given us our bodies, and He makes it clear He expects us to take care of them.Using supplements wisely is taking care of the most important asset God has given you! Without your body and your mind, you'll not be able to do anything at all. There is no way of proving supplements can save your life, but if you are facing serious health challenges, as I was when I was diagnosed with cancer, supplementing you diet with the right nutrients and herbs may enable your body to heal so you don't die from the disease. So you can see why I believe supplements are a very wise investment. I trust you'll agree. Hopefully these things will help you realize that money spent on supplements is actually money invested in a healthy and happy future. Next month we'll focus on how supplements can provide solutions for some of the problems in your life. Until then, may the Lord bless you this Christmas.
