What Causes Arthritis?
Demanding Question

What causes arthritis is the question anyone asks when experiencing arthritic pain. In fact, apart from the pain, most people wouldn't know they had a problem with arthritis.

But when you're struggling with sore joints, you'll be wanting to find out what causes them, in hopes that knowing the cause will enable you to fix the problem.

However, before we discuss causes, we need to understand what arthritis actually is.

These hands show the damage arthritis causes.

What is Arthritis?

I've realized through research that arthritis is not just one specific disease. Rather, like cancer, it is a generic term that is used to refer to over 100 separate diseases.

I've also realized that no one is completely sure what the causes are. So I'll share with you the theories I've found most believable, as well as my understanding of their practical implications for anyone dealing with arthritis.Dr. Williams' Joint Advantage GoldA full understanding of the answer to what arthritis is will require a page of its own.

But for a general understanding that relates to what causes arthritis:

Arthritis is an inflammatory condition that destroys the cartilage and lubricating fluid in your body's joints, resulting in pain and stiffness.

So... What causes Arthritis?

Please understand that the causes for arthritis will vary depending on the type of arthritis you have. But the following is a list of the major causes, or at times theorized causes, I've been able to discover through research.
  • an autoimmune problem where your immune system attacks your joints
  • an infection in one or more joints
  • the formation of mineral crystals in the joints
  • joint injury
  • the aftereffects of joint infection
  • long term misuse of joints
  • food allergies
  • a result of "aging"

These are researched answers to the question, "What causes arthritis?", but underlying each of these answers is a deeper cause for arthritis that is seems obvious to me, but was never stated. It is:

  • Partial Healing, or your body's inability to overcome the health challenges mentioned above, and heal completely.

What can be done?

There are two ways of dealing with arthritis.
  • You can go to doctors, take the drugs they recommend, suffer for years, and eventually have the joints replaced when the pain and difficulty in movement force you to do something.

This route generally will eventually lead to total disability and an early, painful death.

Deal with the Consequences

If you go to doctors and simply do exactly what they say, your joint health will continue to worsen.

Conventional doctors only treat symptoms, not the underlying causes of arthritis.

On the other hand, if you research your condition and find supplements that will help, please realize:

  • you'll need to make them a regular part of your life.
  • You'll have to spend the money to buy them regularly.
  • You'll have to remember to take them.
  • Most importantly, you'll have to give your body time to heal.

You didn't develop painful arthritis over night, and it won't heal overnight either. However, if you will give your body time, and the natural remedies for arthritis it needs, it can heal. The more it heals, the less problems you will have with arthritis.

The goal is to get to the point where you never think "What causes arthritis?", because you forget you ever had a problem with it.
