Perhaps you aren't the one dealing with the disease, rather it's someone you love... In that case you're probably even more interested in knowing the answer to this question! Theoretically, at least, if we know what causes cancer we should be able to prevent it, or reverse it. So the answer definitely has life altering implications. What Causes Cancer?

I was diagnosed with cancer in early April of 2003. About nine months later, I finished the course of treatments laid out for me by the medical doctors, and tried to resume a normal life. I even went for the follow up visits for the next five years...
But, this page isn't about my cancer experiences, so I'll just say that now, more than seven years later, I am willing to call myself a cancer survivor, although I'd never guarantee I won't have to deal with this health challenge again.
My personal interest in what causes cancer isn't so much for myself, right now, as for my husband.
The day before Easter this past April, he started running a high fever, and told me he couldn't cough because it hurt too much! Since it's impossible to see a doctor on Easter week-end outside of the emergency room, or a walk-in clinic, we chose the latter.
Two hours later, after a chest X-ray, and a few other tests, the doctor diagnosed him with pneumonia. We had been planning to leave on a short term mission trip five days later, so we asked the doctor if he'd be well enough to travel. He said definitely not, he thought he would need four to six weeks to get over the pneumonia.
It is a rather lengthy story, so I won't give you all the details here, but the x-ray at the walk in clinic showed a spot on his lung, so a CAT scan was ordered. The CAT scan showed a mass so they sent him to a pulmonary specialist. The specialist thought he could take care of the problem with a bronchoscopy, but when it was done, his bronchial tube was so narrowed by the mass that the doctor couldn't get into it to take a biopsy. So he scheduled surgery on May 27th.
We were told the surgeon would cut out the mass, and if it was cancerous he would take out the upper lobe of his lung. If it wasn't he would take out only a third of the upper lobe.
Dennis was in surgery for six and a half hours. When the surgeon finished, he had taken the upper two lobes of his right lung, and diagnosed him with lung cancer.
So, as you can imagine, right now I have an intense interest in the answer to what causes cancer.
It is widely accepted that smoking causes lung cancer, but we've almost all known people who've smoked since they were young and live into their eighties or nineties and die without ever having trouble with lung cancer!
On the other hand, my husband has never smoked a cigarette, and yet he has developed lung cancer at sixty-four.
Nevertheless, let's consider what causes cancer according to conventional medicine. Please understand, these are the things they are aware of, at this point in time... every year the answers change as researchers conduct new studies.
Alternative medicine has similar but somewhat different answers for what causes cancer . Alternative medical experts agree on four basic causes for cancer. But please, read carefully because although some are similar, overall the thrust of their answers is different. They are:
They believe these problems cause cancer by destroying the body's immune system so cancer can overwhelm it.
As with oral health, unresolved emotional issues can weaken the immune system to where cancer is able to overcome your natural defenses against it.
Particularly cancer feeds on refined sugars, hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, and the chemicals, preservatives, and hormones that are added to processed foods today.
If you want to prevent cancer, the best way is currently available is to avoid as many of these causes as you possibly can. No one knows for sure how many of them will overwhelm your body's defenses, and actually result in a cancer diagnosis.
But the more of these causes you can avoid, the less likely you'll be to receive a cancer diagnosis.

But an even more important question underlies this one...Can you reverse cancer?
As you know, conventional medicine treats cancer in one of three ways:They cut it out, they radiate it, or they try to kill it with chemotherapy.
But the biggest problem I see with this approach is that all three will be promoting more cancer, as they treat what you currently have.
For example, when my husband had his cancer surgery he was in the hospital for five days, and then three days later they re-admitted him to get rid of the MRSA infection he had acquired around the second drain. And once again he was hospitalized for a full five days.
During those hospital stays he had at least one, and at times two chest x-rays per day, although it is common knowledge that radiation is a cause of cancer.
Treating cancer with radiation, one of the recommended treatments for the cancer I had seven years ago, is also using a known carcinogen to supposedly "cure" cancer.
And chemotherapy weakens your overall immune system, which is already too weak, or you wouldn't have developed the cancer in the first place.
If you're diagnosed with cancer, only you can determine how you ought to treat it, but in order to reverse cancer, and regain your health, you'll need to address all the causes for your particular cancer.
If you fail to do that, although you may initially gain remission of the disease, it is likely to recur in a much more deadly format.
What causes cancer? A combination of poisons, both physical and emotional, weaken your immune system.
However, even if you've been diagnosed with cancer, all hope is not lost. You can learn to reverse cancer.
Although I won't cover that topic in detail here, I do plan to do so in the near future, so be sure to sign up for the health supplements blog to stay informed of pages as they are written.
