This Women's Weight Loss Program is Designed for Our Metabolism!

A doctor named Susan Lark developed this women's weight loss program for the ladies she worked with. She developed it especially for women who are middle age or older, and struggling with unwanted weight gain. It was a bonus if you subscribed to her health newsletter. I have found it to be a very sensible and workable plan.

In its entirety it is 23 pages long, so I won't include everything on this page, but I will try to give you a full summary of her approach.

Dr. Lark insists that greater difficulty in losing weight is not just in your head if you are over 35, but results from physical changes in our bodies as we age.

She further emphasizes that fad diets do not work in the long run. Rather she says we should make changes to our lifestyle if we want to lose excess pounds and stay at our most healthy weight.

To lose weight we must realize that not only our eating habits, but our stress levels, our emotions, and our nutritional supplements will influence our weight.

Although cutting calories, or eating certain foods, as suggested by fad diets, may produce short term weight loss, less than 10% of those who lose weight that way manage to keep it off!

Dr. Lark's Women's Weight Loss Program Recommendations:

To begin you should:

  • set goals
  • seek out a support group
  • make yourself accountable
  • determine to succeed

    Next you must:

  • understand how weight loss happens so you can
  • 1. get rid of "false fat". False fat according to Dr. Lark is bloating and gas caused by food sensitivities, allergies, and liver difficulties caused by the standard American diet. Inflammation is the cause of the bloating and gas so she recommends natural anti-inflammatory supplements.
  • 2. turn off your appetite
  • 3. Rev up your metabolism by turning fat into energy
  • 4. Find out if your thyroid is working right, and if not supplement to support your thyroid. If supplements don't work, seek medical help for hormone prescriptions.
  • 5. determine whether your body tends to acidity or alkalinity so you can keep your body's ph (acid) level balanced.

    Finally:

  • make the necessary lifestyle changes so that the womens weight loss program will become a permanent solution for you.
  • 1. Eat the right foods for your body type. She recommends different foods for women who are high alkaline than she does for those who are overly acidic.
  • 2. Exercise at least 3 times a week. There are 3 different types of exercise that are important. Aerobic exercise improves and maintains cardiovascular health. Strength training improves muscle strength to keep a healthy metabolism. Stretching exercises improve flexibility and balance.
  • 3. Improve stress levels by learning to relax. Dr. Lark recommends yoga and deep breathing exercises as well as different supplements to help with relaxation.

Provide Nutritional Support for Women's Weight Loss Program with These Recommended Supplements:

Supplements Enable Weight Loss for Older Women According to Dr. Lark For a thyroid that isn't working well:
  • L-tyrosine - Take 500 to 2,000 mg. with a meal that has protein.

Natural anti-inflammatories: -Inflammation is the cause of "false fat"

  • Quercetin - Take 300 to 600 mg. once or twice a day.
  • Bromelain - Take 500 to 1000 mg. as needed.
  • MSM - Take 250 to 750 mg. up to 3 times a day.

If you have insulin resistance: (Problems with low or high blood sugar)

  • Chromium picolinate - Take 200 to 400 mcg two times daily, don't take it late in the day or it can make it hard to fall asleep.

    To reduce appetite:

  • Ground Flaxseed - 4 to 6 tablespoons a day.
  • I have found that 1 to 3 tablespoons of Salba work equally well.

    To change fat to energy:

  • L-Carnitine - Take 1000 mg. a day
  • Magnesium - Take 400 to 1,000 mg. a day
  • Green Tea - Drink 3 cups daily, or take 300 to 400 mg. of green tea extract, or 100 mg. of green tea polyphenols 3 times a day.

    To Relax and De-stress:

  • L-phenylalanine - take 500 to 1,000 mg. twice daily
  • 5-HTP - take 50 to 100 mg. once or twice a day.

Dr. Lark suggests starting with the lower dosage she recommends, and moving up to the higher amount only if that dose is not effective.

My Own Experience with this Women's Weight Loss Program:

I have used Dr. Larks women's weight loss program for about three years now. I have found it very effective in helping me maintain a healthy weight without drastic reductions in the amount of food I eat.

However, the supplements are necessary. When I accidentally cut the amount of L-Carnitine I was taking in half for six weeks, I gained about twenty pounds. We were traveling on a mission trip so I didn't realize I had gained so much until I got home. It took me about six to eight months to lose the weight!

You won't need to take all the supplements listed, but you will need to take at least one for every need you're experiencing. Try them one at a time and track the results until you find what works best for you.

I use L-tyrosine and iodine for Thyroid support, all three of the natural anti-inflammatories so I can control "false fat" and food allergies, Salba for appetite reduction, L-Carnitine for fat to energy conversion, and 5-HTP for relaxation and stress reduction.

Vitamin WorldI've purchased most of these supplements from Vitamin World. Since you need several different supplements, I've found them to be the most economical source for me, overall.

You can find many of these supplements from several different places, and some might be less expensive somewhere else. But I've found by the time I add shipping and handling, I usually don't save anything, and it always takes more time to order from multiple places.

    Conclusion:

Although this women's weight loss program is more involved than just adding one supplement to your diet, it also addresses more of women's health concerns. If you are looking for a weight loss program designed especially for women facing mid life weight gain, this program is for you.

It is far more effective and healthy than your typical fad diet, and much more easily followed long term.

The sooner you begin to follow this program the sooner you can stop struggling with your weight and focus on living.
