Dimethylaminoethanol Provides Major Health Benefits

Dimethylaminoethanol, or DMAE as it is more frequently referred to,is a naturally occurring precursor of choline. It is more easily used by the brain than choline itself.

    Conflict over Usefulness


    There seems to be some conflict over the usefulness of supplementing dimethylaminoethanol.

    Wikipedia states that it is not recommended, but I have two different resources in my library that do recommend it. One is written by a nutritionist, and the other by a doctor.

    Both sources state that other than the possibility of insomnia if you take it too late in the day, there are no cautions about taking DMAE as a supplement.

    If I were to begin experiencing troubling memory difficulties, I would definitely give DMAE a try to see if it helped.

    But, if you aren't ready to supplement, eating a lot more cold water fish might achieve many of the same benefits.
